INFLUENCE OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY ADVANCES IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY IN INDONESIA

Abstract

Technological developments continue to increase and have an impact on almost all aspects of people's lives. One form of technology that affects almost all aspects of human life is digital technology. Digital technology is the beginning of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. Klaus Schwab as the founder of WEF had previously published industry 4.0 which was later strengthened by German Chancellor Angela Merkel at the 2015 World Econimic Forum (WEF). The industrial revolution that is happening now drives automation systems in all processes of activity. With the advancement of technology this helps facilitate human work, including in the world of construction. The influence of digital technology was also manifested in the Indonesian construction industry. Progress in the construction industry is felt by architects, civilians and other professionals in construction. With the existence of technology, the consultant planner who originally drew with the drawing machine then found a visual-based operating system and followed a series of application products that utilize digital technology. This study uses the literature study method to provide background and justification for scientific works carried out in certain fields of research. To collect relevant literature, the literature search process has steps. The first step of the search is focused on peer-reviewed outlets, only journal articles are considered. There is no limit to the journal to provide a general view of the scientific work. The second step of the search is done in the google scholar database. The third step in the topic keyword is "the influence of digital technology on the construction industry". The key word for the research limitation is "Indonesia".
