THE EFFECT OF WORK PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL AND WORK DISCIPLINE ON PROMOTIONS AT THE NORTH PADANG POLICE STATION

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between the influence of work performance appraisal and work discipline on promotions at the North Padang Police Station. Respondents in this study were all 47 North Padang Police member of the population. Sampling in this study is the tottal sampling technique, namely the sample selection method that is applied to all members of the population, the population in this study is 47 people. The data analysis technique used is multiple regression linier analysis and statitical t test. The results showed that (1) work performance has a significance value of 0,008, the significant value is smaller than alpha 0,05. This means that work performance has a positive and significant effect on employe promotions at the North Padang Police Station. (2) work discipline has a significance value of 0,037, the significant value is smaller than alpha 0,05. This means that work performance has a positive and significant effect on employe promotions at the North Padang Police Station. The result of this study are expected to contribute to the North Padang Sector Police Station. In an effort to increase promotions in the future, its suggested in the management of the institution to continue to pay attention to employee performance and employee discipline.
