THE USE OF WEBSITE AND MOBILE APPLICATION TO COMPREHEND ENGLISH LEARNING IN PANDEMIC ERA

Abstract

Pandemic era makes people in the world should stay at home and work from home. But as a teacher, pandemic makes us should be creative, attractive, and efficient to deliver knowledge to the students. One of the most effective ways in learning is to use media. The media that can be used are website and mobile application. The purpose of this research was to find out whether the students who are using website and mobile application have better comprehending in English learning than the students who are not using website and mobile application. This research was an experimental research with factorial design 2x2. It was conducted at Syariah Faculty in UIN Imam Bonjol Padang. The population of this research was the first semester students of Hukum Keluarga (HK) with total population of 240 students. The sample was taken by using purposive sampling; the researcher only took 40 students, and namely them as class A as experimental class and class B as control class. The instruments of this research were English test and questionnaire. The data was analysed by two ways ANOVA (ANOVA 2x2). The results of this research are English of students who are using by website and mobile application is better than English of students who are not using website and mobile application. Fo = 196.582 > Ft = 2.69, it means that Ha is accepted.
