EFFECT OF LINGUISTICS COMPETENCE OF CHILDREN IN YOUTUBE VIDEOS ON CHILDREN MISBEHAVIOR

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the effect of social media YouTube in language (Linguistics) acquisition for 7-15 years old children on their misbehavior. It is based on the comprehension that technology advances along with advanced features such as YouTube will be likely to facilitate human social life, likewise to children under the stage of language acquisition. YouTube is one of the interesting media and brings effects on the process of language acquisition for children. However, it has a huge adverse effect on language obtained from YouTube, and frequently children use or practice what they obtained from YouTube in their daily life. This sometimes results in children misbehaving to other people around them, such as ordering, swearing when they are mad or, might lead to brawls among children in their surroundings. This is a primary issue to be analyzed and there shall be a method to overcome such problem, so children can develop in accordance with Law prevailing in Indonesia, as in giving guarantee to children that their lives will be normal, then the country has provided a legal umbrella i.e., Law Number 35 of 2014 on Amendment to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Children Protection. Each children needs to obtain further opportunity to grow and develop optimally, whether physically, mentally, or socially. Therefore, protective measures are required to realize Children wellbeing by ensuring the completion of their rights without any discriminative act.
