Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of work motivation partially on work commitment to civil servants at the West Sumatra Regional Police Office . To determine the effect of job satisfaction partially on work commitment to civil servants at the West Sumatra Regional Police Office . To determine the effect of work motivation and job satisfaction simultaneously on work commitment to civil servants at the West Sumatra Regional Police Office . To determine the effect of work motivation on job satisfaction directly on civil servants at the West Sumatra Regional Police Office . To determine the effect of job satisfaction on work commitment directly to civil servants at the West Sumatra Regional Police Office . To determine the effect of work motivation on work commitment directly to civil servants at the West Sumatra Regional Police Office . To determine the effect of work motivation through job satisfaction on work commitment indirectly to civil servants at the West Sumatra Regional Police Office.


The data collection method used in this research is by using field research and library research. The population in the study was 240 civil servants at the West Sumatra Regional Police Office with a total sampling method. The method of data analysis in this study used descriptive analysis, path analysis, coefficient of determination, and t test hypothesis testing.


The results of the study: Motivation partially has a positive and significant effect on work commitment to civil servants at the West Sumatra Regional Police Office. Job satisfaction partially has a positive and significant effect on work commitment to civil servants at the West Sumatra Regional Police Office . Simultaneous work motivation and job satisfaction on work commitment to civil servants at the West Sumatra Regional Police Office . Motivation directly has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction for civil servants at the West Sumatra Regional Police Office . Job satisfaction directly has a positive and significant effect on work commitment to civil servants at the West Sumatra Regional Police Office . Motivation directly has a positive and significant effect on work commitment to civil servants at the West Sumatra Regional Police Office . Motivation indirectly has a positive and significant effect on commitment with job satisfaction as an intervening variable.
